One of the biggest problems among the Kurds is that they use different alphabetical scripts and styles of writing. This means, although the Kurds understand almost Kurdish, they cannot communicate with each other in writing in their own language consequently, do not activate the wealthy, literary and cultural source of the Kurdish community and cannot make use of the potential market of Kurdish culture therefore. Thus the Kurdish community remains divided and unaware of its own political and cultural existence in all aspects. There is also a large financial and labour market in books, education, printing, publishing, film, theatre, etc to be considered. Someone with a little knowledge of Kurdish easily understands the Kurdish languages but understanding the written word is impossible due to lack of unity in the style of writing. So the Kurdish community is falling apart. By corresponding in Iranian, Turkish and Arabic the Kurds themselves enhance financial the occupiers and the disappearance of the Kurdish existence into the communities and languages Turkish, Farsi and Arabic. That is stupid.

All historical and cultural references to the existence of the Kurdish nation are destroyed or falsified. Kurdish intellectuals have been brought up with untruths for long time. In this way these Kurdish intellectuals have been used as a means to enhance the disappearance of the language into Iranian, Turkish and Arabic. The Kurdish language is the only remaining proof of an independent existence of Kurdish identity. Now that the Kurdish people have rediscovered their stolen identity and history, unity in alphabet and style of writing is missing. Hopefully then the Kurds will stop changing Kurdish into Turkish, Iranian or Arabic.

Present day Kurdish is mainly written in two alphabets. In the areas occupied by Iran, Iraq and Syria the Arabic alphabet is used and in the areas occupied by Turkey, Armenia, Georgie and Azerbaijan the Latin-Turkish alphabet is used. These alphabets are not suitable for the accurate reproduction however of Kurdish phonemes. In the Arabic-Kurdish alphabet the Kurds have tried to reproduce Kurdish phonemes with their own style of writing but without much success. It is impossible to reproduce all the Kurdish sounds with the current Arabic-Kurdish style of writing. These Turkish and Arabic styles of writing could of course be developed and adapted to the Kurdish language. But, since as I said earlier, using these styles of writing will only lead to the further downfall of Kurdish and will work to the political, economic and cultural advantage of the occupiers. The Kurds must never want this. The Kurds are the descendants of the discoverers of “nisán, nuisán” (script). Because our nation is occupied we are not yet in a position to adapt one of the Elamite alphabets from ancient history to use as a modern Kurdish national alphabet. But experts in cuneiform (script) have used symbols to translate Elamite texts into Latin and these are applicable to Kurdish sounds. In recognition of their great work I have also chosen that adapted Latin alphabet for the Elamite in my work. In this way my analysis and comparison of Elamite to present day Kurdish can be better understood.

As a first step towards a united Kurdish (Elamite) nation, I will introduce this Elamite-Kurdish alphabet and style of writing as the National Kurdish Style of Writing. This style of writing (alphabet and writing system) can be applied and developed better in the future.

De Elamitische verwante klanken van s, h, l, r, u, zijn niet uit elkaar onderscheiden.

Ik onderscheid deze klanken op basis van de huidige Kurdische fonetisch.
